Aulia was born in a small village called Batuhampar, Payakumbuh, West Sumatra, Indonesia. The place where he attended elementary and junior high school. Senior high school continued at SMAN No. 2 Payakumbuh. Furthermore, Aulia continued her undergraduate education in the Electrical Engineering Department at Sriwijaya University, Palembang, Indonesia and graduated in 1996. Soon he had the opportunity to become a lecturer at the Electrical Engineering Department at Andalas University in 1997. In 2009 and 2016 he completed his Masters and Doctoral degrees at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. in the Department of Electrical Engineering. His research interests are in the field of high voltage engineering, particularly bionano-polymer insulation materials, plasma technology applications, and partial discharges. Aulia has published various papers related to this field in several  indexed journals and proceedings.
